The first postseason awards were announced today, and among the NL Gold Glove winners were Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins and centerfielder Aaron Rowand.

I'm a little surprised at both selections. Jimmy plays a fine shortstop, but I figured it would be either Jose Reyes, by force of habit and hype, or Troy Tulowitzki, who's simply outstanding at the position. In Rowand's case, there's no reason to doubt his defensive value, but I don't think he's even the best Phillies outfielder.
