This is crazy.  The Mets folding and the Phillies playing amazing in late September - how unlikely.

Was Harry Kalas crying on air?  Sure sounded like it.  Can't say I blame him!

I'm a little teared up too. And I haven't even started drinking yet...

Beat me by mere seconds.

"I think we are the team to beat in the NL East - finally."

Re: Your 2007 NL East Champions - The Philadelphia
I really liked this comment that someone left on Todd Zolecki's blog.
What a team. How can anyone not LOVE this team. Do we even realize what they just pulled off? Do we?

They started 4-11. They lost Lieber and Garcia. They lost Myers and Gordon for a LONG time. They had no Howard and no Burrell in the beginning. They lost Utley for a month. They lost Hamels for a while. They lost Victorino and Bourn for a while. They had no idea who should play third base. And on and on...

They were SEVEN GAMES BACK...

...TWO AND A HALF WEEKS AGO.

I understand they needed help. But they never quit. They NEVER quit.

They beat the team they were chasing EIGHT STRAIGHT times.

And absolutely needing every single day, every single game of the season to wrap it up, they got the guttiest performance you're going to see in a long time anywhere out of a 44-year-old pitcher. ON THE LAST DAY.

My oh my.
