Join Me In L.A. - NLCS Game Three, Phillies at Dodgers
Philadelphia Phillies @ Los Angeles Dodgers
Unfortunately this is the second time this season that I've used this Warren Zevon song as the title to a game thread, but I think the appropriateness, brevity and clarity far outweighs the implications of being a redundant jerk.
After two games in Philadelphia where virtually everything went right for the Phillies, the Fightin's take a 2-0 series lead to the Belly of the SoCal Beast, where the Phillies went 0-4 this season and suffered a couple crushing late-inning defeats.
Jamie Moyer goes for the Phillies tonight, where the deep dimensions of Dodgers Stadium should help him with his fly ball tendencies. Hiroki Kuroda, who absolutely owned the Phillies back in August, goes for the Dodgers. Hopefully Moyer does a little better tonight than he did last week, and the Phillies can put a strangehold on the Dodgers and this series with a 3-0 lead.
Play Ball, folks.
