Tinseltown Rebellion: NLCS Game Four, Phillies at Dodgers
Philadelphia Phillies at Los Angeles Dodgers, Oct 13, 2008 8:22 PM EDT
Alright, let's try this again...
After a sound Game Three thrashing in a matchup that looked bad for the Phillies about a week ago, the Phillies will attempt to stop the bleeding tonight and keep the Dodgers from evening the series at two games apiece. They will do so behind the rather stout right shoulder of Joe Blanton, who pitched exceptionally in the Phillies Game 4 NLDS clincher against the Brewers. The Dodgers send NLCS Game 1 starter/loser Derek Lowe to the hill on three days rest, relying on the old baseball adage (not really backed up by any empirical evidence) that sinkerball pitchers do their best work on short rest.
Even if the Phillies lose tonight, remember that the Dodgers still have to win at least one game in Philadelphia to end the Phillies season.

"I need to do a better job of putting players in the right position to perennially come up short of expectations"
Oh shit!
I just realize I recorded the first 15 minutes! My comments are pretty stale!
I bleed green and I piss silver and blue
Thankfully
Manny was running with a parachute … jesus he’s slow.

Meh, not terrible. Maybe Blanton can hit a deep fly.

"I need to do a better job of putting players in the right position to perennially come up short of expectations"
possible with the bottom 3 due up.
"I need to do a better job of putting players in the right position to perennially come up short of expectations"
makes sense
He’s just generally impatient right now. I hate when they pitch around him—it works, because he gets himself out.
That said, he had a good first pitch to hit there, and he hit it hard, as you said.
Touchdown ... 10-7 Browns pending extra point
"I need to do a better job of putting players in the right position to perennially come up short of expectations"
still good news for those of us including you … that are Eagles fans too

Niekro
So what’s wrong with rubbing down with a file then? Or using spit? I don’t get it. This is all news to me and makes no sense.
Yeah, I heard that. But, I don’t see the line between that and spit or a nailfile. Especially if each team can rub the ball to their liking, and not just some universal rubdown.

I think it’s funny that fox is interviewing Rich Dubbie instead of Charlie. Maybe its because you can’t understand a word he says. Still, these in between interviews are very bizarre
I understand all the words Charlie says – maybe it’s not charlie – maybe it’s you?

another TD for the browns … 17-7 pending extra point.
"I need to do a better job of putting players in the right position to perennially come up short of expectations"
That inning kinda sucked. Even though we are winning, I am starting to feel really bad about our chances. You have to figure that Blanton will cough up at least a few more runs…especially when Charlie leaves him out there an inning too long.
Offense, wake the hell up!
Anderson making some nice throws. I never saw him last year, and I know he stunk on ice early this year, but he looks good in this game.
I don’t know what sucks more- listening to Tim McCarver or listening to Tony Kornheiser!
I bleed green and I piss silver and blue
Blanton - drapes don't match the carpet...
Hoo-boy. I think i just made myself sick.
