Anyone know what face-value is for WS tix? Wondering how much lower I can expect prices to move by the weekend...scalper prices are nuts so far. Thanks.

I live in Philly now....and tix weren't hard in St Pete last week

But I’m pretty resigned to not being able to fly back down there tomorrow.

(I also work out of my house and have lots of FF miles….that helps)

Face value

Face value for 300 and 400 level tickets is $150/each. I think lower level seats are $220/each. I would not expect to get them for anything close to that. It’s a smallish park (in every way) and a hyped-up fanbase. Good luck.

true… i think the cheapest i’ve seen them were on stubhub for like $300ish… then again, there were people on the Rays board talking about people outside the stadium before game 7 versus Boston selling tickets 3 for $8… I guess there were even people there just throwing the tickets on the ground because no one wanted them… if they can’t get revved up for an ALCS game 7 and sell the place out, who knows, you might be able to run around before the game and get seats for $40 or $50 a piece if you’re there and patient enough

That was an exception to the Rule

A bunch of Rays fans bought in a bit too hard to the Magical Red Sox comeback hype. I don’t think it’ll happen again if it comes down to it. The Rays still have a ton of fair-weatherers, this whole ‘winning’ thing is new to us :). Also, a good handful of Boston fans did the same thing at Game 5.

I would say that the Rays had the Bucs game to contend with also as some others speculated, but TV ratings showed that the ALCS blasted Sunday Night Football out of the water in the local area, which is the first time a Rays game has ever beaten a Bucs game when directly competing.

i wasn’t casting judgement… I was just informing him of the possibility

Fair enough

But I’m sure he already knows this, he was at games 6 and 7 of the ALCS; he bought tickets through the lotto password that I won and gave him.

I take no offense

There were definitely a lot of tickets around for game 7 (not as many for game 6) but the atmosphere was great both before and during the game.

A team and fanbase isn’t built in one day…or even one season.

What, you can't read my mind?

The fanbase thing irks me because of so many bad assumptions that the area doesn’t support the team; so I’m not trying to pick an argument with someone. I’m not taking offense to anything you’re saying and I hope that idea is reciprocal.

And now, for some taunting. Ronde Barber is rumored to be throwing out the 1st pitch in Game 1.

Thanks fine… I hear Steve Spurrier is throwing out Game 2’s… He is one of your area’s high quality quarterbacks, correct? :-)

Remember, you can't spell 'Tenessee' without 'SEC'

I used to be a Gators fan until my first day of enrollment at South Florida. You know, USF is in the Big East, where all the teams are all East of the Missisippi, which makes sense. How many teams are in the Big Televen again?

by kericr on Oct 21, 2008 5:58 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

correct… i’m glad you understand the fundamentals of BigTen math… I hate the BigTen anyway… And I share your disdain for the Gators and all of there mutant offspring… I didn’t play too well with Gators fans when I was at FSU. Although I did almost get attached by a Gator in the middle of the night on UF’s god-forsaken campus…

thanks

I fully expect to have to shell out some funds, but the prices so far are crazy. The Internet definitely allows a new level of scalper (and new type of buyer.) Prices will go down – at least some.
