Who Starts Game 5 2/3?

So obviously we have new pitchers tonight (or maybe tomorrow) for the continuation game. Do you put Myers out there? Durbin?

Star-divide

t's odd, because there are potentially only 9 outs left for the Rays, so you don't need a pitcher to go very far. MLB.com says that they're likely to use the bullpen.

Remember, if the continuation game goes to Wednesday then the potential game 7 is no earlier than Friday, and Hamels could certainly pitch some.

If the Phils were winning...

then Myers might make sense – but you can’t blow your #2 starter in a game that might not be the clincher.

I think it’s an interesting decision for both teams, because ideally you’re looking at a RP – but one that is going to have to prepare as a starter. For the Rays, it’s probably easy…Balfour goes out there because he’s our best bullpen pitcher and just got a free night (or 2) of rest and if he doesn’t go out – he’s not available. But the guy that’s preparing like the starter he is, is Mr Price.

Phils…not so sure.

Why prepare as a starter? It is not likely any pitcher is going to go longer than 2 innings so why change your approach?

a RP knows 5 minutes ahead of time, a stater has all day to get ready mentally

Though, with Bud deciding when the game will be played, no one might know tonight until 5 minutes ahead of time.

Then Cholly shouldn’t inform whoever is going to pitch until 5 minutes before it is time for them to go in.
