Beyond the Boxscore breaks down the Phillies

I missed this from a couple weeks ago, but it's an interesting read nonetheless.

Thanks. I hadn’t seen it either—agree it’s interesting.

Also interesting is to be on the “I watch the games” side of potential arguments—as in disbelief that his (purely quantitative, albeit maybe subjective in the metrics used) evaluation of, say, Eaton is so far off from mine (much more qualitative, natch).

Thanks for the link.

I’d love to get Phillies’ fans perspective on this. And I guess y’all don’t pay much attention to FanShots, huh?

I guess each of the blogs have their own pecadillos (sp?). I’m trying to encourage more FanShot stuff, hence this post. Let’s see how long it takes to embrace the comment rec system…

We, too, are trying to build the FanShots section at BtB. If you find any tricks, let me know, and I’ll do the same. It just seems like a great way to use the site as a user-led discussion board.

I think the problem there is getting people to go there, organically.

I also am thinking of tweaking the layout of the site so the FanShots appear higher on the sidebar.

What is the distinction between FanPosts and FanShots? Or more to the point, why is there a distinction?

Al over at Bleed Cubbie Blue breaks it down nicely here.

I like to think of FanShots as being like a quick, one-off , hit-and-run message board style posting, and FanPosts being more like a full story.
