Swindle's Gone
To the Brewers. From mlbtraderumors.com:
According to Tom Haudricourt, the Brewers signed southpaw reliever R.J. Swindle to a Major League deal. Swindle, 25, posted a 1.98 ERA in 36.1 Triple A innings this year. Swindle has already bounced around in the Red Sox, Yankees, and Phillies organizations.
Some readers will recall that The Good Phight sort of adopted Swindle in early 2008, when he spoke with our own David Cohen. Though it didn't work out with the Phils, we wish him the best of luck.

I knew Swindle would probably get a better offer elsewhere, especially when Eyre was re-signed, but good for him that he got a major league deal. A lot of (ignorant, in my opinion) people are judging him based on his 3 major league outings, but I still think he can be an effective LOOGY. You just can’t ignore that kind of minor league track record: LHB have hit just .149 off him, with 0 HRs, 88 Ks, and 8 BBs in 183 PAs. Those numbers are simply jaw-dropping.
Best of luck to RJ.

I saw Swindle pitch twice, once in AAA at Durham and that one ML game.
In the AAA game three guys hit rockets off him right at defenders. In the MLB game they hit them away from defenders (and in the vicinity of outfield bleachers).
I thought he was gimmicky. Fun to watch, but perchance not very effective. As stated earlier, hope he does well.
