Phillies extend Manual's contract

Phillies just announced that they extened Charlie Manual's contract through 2011. They picked up the option on Charlie's current contract for 2010, and also added an extra year. They did not announce Charlie's salary in the extra year, but Charlie was reportedly seeking 3 million.

I really like this move. Charlie seems to be a really genuine guy, and won this city over. The Charlie chants during the parade were something I have never seen for a Philly coach.
