Phils, Rox kicking tires on Carrasco for Garrett Atkins?
Seems like it would solve the RH bat question, but Atkins' H/R splits are downright terrifying.

…the Phillies are positively unwilling to trade him.
Taking hitters out of Coors Field and expecting them to…hit…is not a good plan.

I was about to flip, but the article is actually fairly reassuring. “An industry source says the Rockies are insisting on Carrasco, and the Phillies are positively unwilling to trade him.”

I just glanced at the headline for this post and saw the names Carrasco and Atkins, thought they had already made the deal and almost threw up. Then I saw the question mark and actually read the article and felt much better. Amaro is not THAT crazy. Is he?

They won’t make that deal, nor should they. But I’d love to get Atkins if the price were something more like Happ or Kendrick plus another arm, even a fairly decent pitching prospect like Edgar Garcia or Antonio Bastardo.

The fact that the name Ibanez would come up at all should be proof enough of his insanity.
