Phillies Resign Moyer
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2008/12/phillies-re-sig.html
Phillies resigned Moyer to a 2 year contract, hopefully in the 14-16 million range.
Does this mean Phillies are done with Lowe? or did they flat out lie about giving Park a chance to be a starting pitcher?
I kinda thought that once the Yanks signed AJ and CC, Lowes price would drop to the phillies initial offer, anyone see the Phils still signing Lowe ffor 4 years 60 million?

The Phillies weren’t serious players for Lowe in my opinion – the yanks and then other teams were going to offer more money and longer deals – it’s like the offer milwaukee made to CC “see we tried but he just was greedy and wouldn’t take our discounted offer”.
So – 2 years for moyer huh?

my only problem with that is that Ruben said pitching was his #1 priority this offseason. Signing Moyer and Park does not show me that was his number 1 priority. He either needs to give Cole Hamels a contract extension, or he needs to sign another big name pitcher: Lowe. Didn’t we always know the phils would resign Moyer? Was that offer to Lowe just trying to show Moyer that we could go the other way, and he needs to lower his demands?

Happy Moyer is back… as long as it’s a reasonable price… But if Chan Ho Park and Raul Ibanez are our two big moves, I’m not going to be thrilled.
But T.O. and his sideline histrionics wear on a quarterback. He's like the hot stripper you tried to clean up and convert into a real girlfriend. It's a lot of fun until the moment she has her second drink while out to eat with your parents. You unravel quicker than she does.
