Who should the Phillies sign next?

The starting rotation seems solidified in four of the five starting spots by Hamels, Myers, Moyer, and Blanton. However that fifth spot is a little shaky to me. Who is going to start there? Is it going to be Kendrick? J.A. Happ? Park? Carassco? Truth be told, nobody really knows so why not bring in a  guy to solidify that spot? Most of the free agents may be a little bit advanced in age but they can still play (just look at Mr. 80 mph fastball throwing Jaime Moyer).

for mark mulder because I don’t think we really need another starting pitcher. Happ is ready now to be a 4/5, and Kendrick or Park are ready if one of those 5 goes down. Then Carrasco will be ready by midseason or so right? It can’t hurt much to sign a guy like Mulder for extra depth (which you can never have enough of) to a deal like Benson’s last year (yes i know that didn’t work out – but it didn’t hurt much right?).

i don’t think the phils have the budget for lowe, but it would be of course nice to have him.

Like i mentioned in the other thread I think a decent pickup would be rich aurilia. He hit .305/.354/.899 the last three years against lefties and would possibly be a nice pitch hitter and defensive replacement for howard, while possibly filling in for utley the first month (if they don’t go the donald root).

I want the Phillies to sign sheets to a 2 year deal with an option for a 3rd. I think he is the FA steal of the year and taking a risk on him has very high reward potential. Having too much pitching can never be a bad thing.
