Victorino to DL; Snelling recalled
The AP recap of tonight's 7-1 win over the Cubs indicates that Shane Victorino is headed to the 15-day disabled list after straining his calf in the sixth inning. The Phillies recalled outfielder Chris Snelling from triple-A Lehigh Valley to take Victorino's roster spot. Victorino previously had hurt the calf last summer against the Cubs in a game at Wrigley Field; he missed three weeks, and then kept aggravating the injury after his return. Hopefully this time they'll let it heal.
I'm guessing that So Taguchi and Jayson Werth will share time in center field until Victorino returns, with Werth perhaps getting the bulk of the at-bats. He's a decent enough glove man, but with Pat Burrell plodding around left field, Werth's slightly inferior range could be an issue. Presumably whoever plays tomorrow will lead off, with Jimmy Rollins not expected to return to the lineup until Tuesday.

I don't like to lose Vic, but I am excited to see if Snelling can play well enough to stay. Not sure over who (though, So Taguchi might be a good choice).
Sennling is still young and has had a good OBP despite a low BA in limited playing time (which I like to see as he appears to not be impatient trying to show off).
For Who? My teammates.
For What? To Win.
How Much? Where do I sign?

Snelling (didn’t butcher his name this time) goes deep with an important HR. Keep him up.
