Game Six: Myers vs. Volquez

Philadelphia @ Cincinnati

Brett Myers takes the hill this afternoon in another game I don't get to watch thanks to an MLB ExtraInnings blackout (hear that?  I want all the games!!!!).  So I guess it's REFRESH REFRESH on the browser for me!  He's opposed by Edison Volquez, who was decent in six starts for the Rangers last year (4.50 ERA).

I chalked yesterdays game up as a loss even before the first pitch, so it was disappointing when they lost despite the game being quite winnable.  And it was encouraging that Eaton looked so thoroughly average, as opposed to vomitishly horrendous.

Game on, folks.

Does anybody else have a nagging feeling that Dusty Baker knows less about baseball than the average Good Phight follower? Just a thought.

We can't keep wasting leadoff hits if we want to win games.

Just an observation.

lineup

Victorino needs to bat lower in the lineup until he gets his junk together.

I don't think lowering Victorino in the lineup is the answer, as it will not help his confidence at all. It is five games into the season, give it time. Are we going to drop Rollins, Victorino, Utley, or Howard down to eighth in the lineup every time one of them struggles for a five game period?

Tomoerrow is a day game as well. Maybe just let Gooch play. That could be justified without stepping on Shanes toes. Anyway justa thought...

stunk

Well, that stunk.

At least he threw some pitches.

Brett Myers has not been sharp. All of his pitches look flat and he has no velocity.

Just like that we are down 2-0 after stranding 2 men in scoring position in the previous half.

Pedon't

Feliz just looked at 2 good fastballs and chased a breaking ball in the dirt to strike out. He is going to be frustrating to watch at the dish this year.

Nice to see

Charlie has let 3 of our Phils swing 3-0 the yesterday and today. I like it.

It's apparent

Condrey doesn't have it today, why is he still in?
