May 22: Kendrick vs. Oswalt

Philadelphia Phillies @ Houston Astros

The Phils venture to Houston for a four-game holiday weekend set with the scalding-hot Astros. Roy Oswalt will try to shake off a minor injury in his start tonight, while Kyle Kendrick hopes to cool down a Houston offense led by Lance Berkman, who has gotten a nickname upgrade from "Fat Elvis" to "The Big Puma." Not bad.

Feliz hitting 5th?

by WholeCamels on May 22, 2008 8:27 PM EDT   0 recs

Feliz now 9 for 21 against Oswalt.

by Steve-O- on May 22, 2008 9:04 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

WTF

Why doesn’t Kendrick just strike out there instead of a possible DP?

by Steve-O- on May 22, 2008 8:36 PM EDT   0 recs

Jenkins – that throw wasn’t good

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 8:48 PM EDT   0 recs

Did you expect a good throw?

by Steve-O- on May 22, 2008 8:55 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

The astros announcers were talking about him having a good arm or something.

Ok, i understand why jenkins is playing tonight, he has good career numbers against oswalt…but did i miss a burrell injury?

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 8:57 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Maybe just a rest, I haven’t heard anything.

by Steve-O- on May 22, 2008 9:00 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

his numbers against oswalt aren’t great but dobbs has limited experience against him…i’m not in the city area so i thought maybe there was some local news i missed

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 9:01 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Howard with a big double. Feliz follows it with a first pitch single. 3-2 Phils.

For Who? My teammates.

For What? To Win.

How Much? Where do I sign?

by jonk on May 22, 2008 8:57 PM EDT   0 recs

That throw from bourn was horrible

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 8:59 PM EDT   0 recs

Victorino with a good catch in center. Dead run coming in, probably the hardest play to make for an outfielder.

For Who? My teammates.

For What? To Win.

How Much? Where do I sign?

by jonk on May 22, 2008 9:08 PM EDT   0 recs

Harry, Dan Uggla has put up better numbers in May than Berkman has.

For Who? My teammates.

For What? To Win.

How Much? Where do I sign?

by jonk on May 22, 2008 9:09 PM EDT   0 recs

Nonsense, espn tells me that berkman is the awesomest

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 9:12 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

If Michael Bourn was really fast he would have caught that

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 9:16 PM EDT   0 recs

God I love Utley but he needs a day off. This is getting painful.

by Steve-O- on May 22, 2008 9:23 PM EDT   0 recs

Especially when he’s on your fantasy team.

by PhoenixPhilly on May 22, 2008 9:23 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Utley does not look good.

by PhoenixPhilly on May 22, 2008 9:23 PM EDT   0 recs

He’s a handsome man

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 9:25 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I’ve been informed that man crushes are acceptable on this board, but should be kept to ones’ self.

by PhoenixPhilly on May 22, 2008 9:27 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I’m just saying, you said he didn’t look good, but your g/f/wife would probably dump you for him, that’s all I’m saying…i have no man crush on chase utley personally…My favorite phillie is still ryan howard

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 9:29 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

LOL. Don’t tell my wife.

by Steve-O- on May 22, 2008 9:29 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Ryan Howard proves my point :)

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 9:30 PM EDT   0 recs

Howard is officially out of his slump.

by PhoenixPhilly on May 22, 2008 9:32 PM EDT   0 recs

Is it for real????

by Steve-O- on May 22, 2008 9:32 PM EDT   0 recs

Isn’t Roy Oswalt supposed to be better than this?

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 9:32 PM EDT   0 recs

Depends…i say it takes two weeks of consistent play before you even consider he’s out of it…meh?

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 9:34 PM EDT   0 recs

That or 2,000 feet of HRs.

by PhoenixPhilly on May 22, 2008 9:34 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Santana

Takes the loss. 7 innings, 12 hits, 3 runs only 1 K. Shame to see him get beat eh?

by Steve-O- on May 22, 2008 9:41 PM EDT   0 recs

read something today about his velocity being down and his throw being ‘shortened’ according to some people…some sort of side effect to some shoulder wear that the mets knew about before they signed his long term deal…i’d hate to see santana turn into a pedro like pitcher, that would be just awful for the mets

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 9:43 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

not enough sarcasm in your posts guys.

by PhoenixPhilly on May 22, 2008 9:44 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

well we could talkmabout Barry Zito…On second thought….

by Steve-O- on May 22, 2008 9:47 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

on a sort of related note…when is willie randolph getting fired?

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 10:54 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Kendrick

Just following this on ESPN GameCast, but does it look like Kendrick has found his mojo? So far tonight it looks pretty good.

by phillyinportland on May 22, 2008 9:47 PM EDT   0 recs

less than 15 minutes later….this qualifies as black cat jinx…bad man

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 9:59 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

good bunt or wasted out…or both?

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 10:04 PM EDT   0 recs

Gotta feel confident with Durbin coming in here.

by PhoenixPhilly on May 22, 2008 10:19 PM EDT   0 recs

Berkman

What is he eating?

by PhoenixPhilly on May 22, 2008 10:22 PM EDT   0 recs

Babies…under one week old…proven method

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 10:26 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Pat Burrell says…see what i can do

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 10:28 PM EDT   0 recs

Burrell at his best; working the pitcher and getting his pitch.

by PhoenixPhilly on May 22, 2008 10:29 PM EDT   0 recs

Ruiz puts Matsui on his ass, and if i’m remembering correctly that’s a pretty sensitive spot for kaz matsui?

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 10:36 PM EDT   0 recs

Oh Ryan….that’s not going to make the knee jerkers happy

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 10:46 PM EDT   0 recs

The Marlins just swept the Diamondbacks…that team might be good

Happy Pete just walked

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 10:57 PM EDT   0 recs

Eventually I have to think it’s going to come apart for them… but who knows?

Nice to see that Howard’s slump appears to be over. It’s always odd to see when a slump ends. Something just clicks.

by JasonB on May 22, 2008 11:10 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Cmon Lidge.

For Who? My teammates.

For What? To Win.

How Much? Where do I sign?

by jonk on May 22, 2008 11:06 PM EDT   0 recs

1-2-3 means no Berkman.

by PhoenixPhilly on May 22, 2008 11:08 PM EDT   0 recs

1-2-3-4 means berkman but lidge laughs in the face of the baby eater

by jemagee on May 22, 2008 11:12 PM EDT   0 recs

Lidge is just incredible.
