May 22: Kendrick vs. Oswalt
Philadelphia Phillies @ Houston Astros
The Phils venture to Houston for a four-game holiday weekend set with the scalding-hot Astros. Roy Oswalt will try to shake off a minor injury in his start tonight, while Kyle Kendrick hopes to cool down a Houston offense led by Lance Berkman, who has gotten a nickname upgrade from "Fat Elvis" to "The Big Puma." Not bad.

WTF
Why doesn’t Kendrick just strike out there instead of a possible DP?

The astros announcers were talking about him having a good arm or something.
Ok, i understand why jenkins is playing tonight, he has good career numbers against oswalt…but did i miss a burrell injury?

Howard with a big double. Feliz follows it with a first pitch single. 3-2 Phils.
For Who? My teammates.
For What? To Win.
How Much? Where do I sign?

Victorino with a good catch in center. Dead run coming in, probably the hardest play to make for an outfielder.
For Who? My teammates.
For What? To Win.
How Much? Where do I sign?

Harry, Dan Uggla has put up better numbers in May than Berkman has.

God I love Utley but he needs a day off. This is getting painful.

I’ve been informed that man crushes are acceptable on this board, but should be kept to ones’ self.

Santana
Takes the loss. 7 innings, 12 hits, 3 runs only 1 K. Shame to see him get beat eh?
by Steve-O- on May 22, 2008 9:41 PM EDT 0 recs
read something today about his velocity being down and his throw being ‘shortened’ according to some people…some sort of side effect to some shoulder wear that the mets knew about before they signed his long term deal…i’d hate to see santana turn into a pedro like pitcher, that would be just awful for the mets

Kendrick
Just following this on ESPN GameCast, but does it look like Kendrick has found his mojo? So far tonight it looks pretty good.

Burrell at his best; working the pitcher and getting his pitch.

Ruiz puts Matsui on his ass, and if i’m remembering correctly that’s a pretty sensitive spot for kaz matsui?

Eventually I have to think it’s going to come apart for them… but who knows?
Nice to see that Howard’s slump appears to be over. It’s always odd to see when a slump ends. Something just clicks.
