Game 31: Cain vs. Myers
San Francisco Giants at Philadelphia Phillies, May 3, 2008 7:05 PM EDT
I'm out of action again for this one, but it worked out okay last night.
Giants lineup: Lewis, Velez, Winn, Molina, Rowand, Bowker, Aurilia, Bocock, Cain
Phils lineup: Victorino, Dobbs, Utley, Howard, Burrell, Jenkins, Coste, Bruntlett, Myers
Given the weather and the reps of the starters, you might expect a low-scoring affair tonight, but both pitchers have fairly gruesome career lines against the other team.

I just started watching, but he looks good. He seems to be using the fastball more.

what makes me smile about all of this is that we’re 17-14 in early may with howard struggling and rollins on the DL…granted, the starting pitching overall has been better than we expected, and the bullpen has been lights out. That, plus burrell helping to carry the offense in howards slump and werth doing everything he can to earn an every-day role has really made me confident in the teams ability to adapt and succeed in weaker areas when the strengths are down…
On the other hand, if the pitching falls back down to earth, burrell cools off, utley comes down from the moon, and jroll doesnt recover well from his ankle injury, things could go differently
Nice to see
Well at least Myers had a 7 pitch at bat. Cain is conservative.
The Phils bullpen will have to come through today.

Myer’s #106 Ks him through 6. A lot of pitches, but a lot of K. Decent enough outing.

How Much? Where do I sign?
It was good to see him challenge the weak SF hitters. Let’s see what he can do against a better team.

I’ll take the chance. I certainly have a man crush on Chase. How do I get my hands on one of those growth charts?
