M's Fire Bavasi

Isn't that big of a deal, however, if we were ever to trade for Bedard, Bavasi would have to be gone and now he is.  I really want this to happen.

Now, I am being yelled at because my post is not long enough.  So, what else?  Hmmm.  Who would you guys rather have, Bedard or Sabathia?  Would you prefer to trade prospects or a big leaguer like Victorino or Werth?  Who are you more surprised hit a triple, Burrell or Howard?  I wonder what the odds were that both Howard and Burrell would hit a triple in the same game.  Spooky.  This has to be long enough now...

The 75-word thing is kind of a pisser. Sorry about that.

I agree that Bavasi’s getting canned jumps the odds that Bedard could be available. And I had the same question in the gamethread about the freakishly long odds against Burrell and RyHo both tripling in the same game.

If you take the number of triples per game over 2004-2008 going into today’s game, the odds of them both tripling in the same game are about 1 in 40,000.

To continue with the “firing” thread, Randoplh, Peterson, and Nieto have all been canned by the Mets.

Would anyone be interested in adrian beltre at 3rd with the Ms eating part of his salary…he really can’t have that high of a value any more but he’s got to be an upgrade over feliz?

Surprisingly, I think I might actually prefer Feliz.

Bavasi

This was an accident waiting to happen with his absolutly horrible signings. Safeco plays like the Grand canyon, much more suited to speed and small ball instead of the likes of Beltre and Sexton. As an aside a couple of weeks ago when management got a vote of confidence I had to explain to my Mariners fan wife it was really a ‘kiss of death’. Nobody wants to hear the’R’ word but this team needs a total makeover.

Didn’t they whack the manager today as well?

The Mights M’s fired him, in fact the wife and I were discussing the possibility earlier today and I said within 2 weeks he’d be gone, got home and she read about it. I told her to watch for the fire sale at the trading deadline. Also predicted Richie would be sent packing and they’d eat his massive salary (14M). My wife is getting a hell of an education I assure you.
