Around SBN: Phillies Beat Lowe, Dodgers Bar-right-arrows

Marson, Donald Will Play for USA

As you might already have heard, two of the Phillies' top prospects--catcher Lou Marson and infielder Jason Donald--were named today to the U.S. Olympic team that will compete in Beijing next month. They'll leave the Reading Phils--or, if they're dealt, another minor-league team--on July 28; the Olympics will be held between August 8 and 24.

Both are also in the South All-Stars starting lineup, along with outfielder Greg Golson (a finalist for the Olympic team who might still be named to the one remaining spot), for tonight's Eastern League all-star game. Pitcher Carlos Carrasco is on the team as well, but rumor has it that the Phillies have asked he not be used in the game.
