Campaign Cheer

WSBGM's would like to establish Campaign Cheer to be unleashed upon Citizens Bank Park Tuesday August 19th at 7:05 pm. What we propose is a blind positivity so strong that it reverberates throughout the stadium from the time the Phillies take the field for the first pitch, until the last player walks off into the clubhouse. Everything must be cheered.  The boos obviously aren't working, so why not go a different route.

The ten of you will really hammer your point home. Whatever that may be.

For Real

It’s a bit sarcastic, but I really want to make a positive impact. I want the boo-birds gone, and I really want the cheer the team on so they feel that positive vibe Jimmy longs for. There may only be 10 of us, but who knows, maybe we’ll actualy get more than that. Booing doesn’t help, so why not try something new?

I’d love the boo-birds gone too, but this shiny happy people movement isn’t going to fly, not in Philly where most sports fans fancy themselves blue-collar tough guys.

Anyway, I’d focus on reducing the boos somehow rather than sarcastic “blind positivity.” I’m not sure how much sarcasm a group of people can convey by cheering in unison anyway.

Sarcasm be gone!

Ok, I admit when I first came up with this idea it was silly and sarcastic. However, now that I’m going through with it I want it to be nothing but positive. I don’t want Jimmy to be the villain, I don’t want to justify his statement with an even more harsh environment. I want cheer, real supportive cheer. I want the ballpark atmosphere to be a place of actual homefield advantage. Do I honestly think enough people will participate to make a difference? Nah, but there is the possibility and that’s enough for me.
