FOXy Fun: Dodgers at Phillies, 8/23/08
Los Angeles Dodgers @ Philadelphia Phillies
OKAY, that was more like it. Always nice to put seven runs on a future Hall of Famer.
We should have a good one on tap this afternoon on FOX, with highly touted and talented Clayton Kershaw facing off against Cole Hamels, who on Tuesday finally won his first game since sometime in Bush's first term, I think.
Manuel put his "run scoring" lineup in last night (Dobbs and Coste vs. Feliz and Ruiz) and it seemed to work. It'll be interesting to see what he does tonight.

Mark Grace just called the Phillies front runners on the Fox pregame show.
Howard’s also batting cleanup against LHP Kershaw.

Ryan Howard really should not be in the lineup today.

Agreed…Eric Bruntlett can do what Howard is doing in just as shitty of a fashion.

Excepting Manny Ramirez, the Dodger’s lineup is remarkably even talent levels. Everyone has an OPS between .730 and .820 from spots 1-8.

Yeah, can’t really be giving up hits to pitchers who are 0 for 20.

One of the first things I learned as a young kid from my father was ‘nothing good ever comes of letting the pitcher on base.’

Tim McCarver voices the opposite opinion of Mark Grace, Phillies fans are not front runners.
I am riveted.

I am usually against a 3-0 green light for Howard, but this time, it pays. 6-2 Phils

With runners on and 1B open, it makes more sense there than it usually does.

Howard with the 2B off a LHP. I like it when he spites me.

Offense? Wow. It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other. You are looking good.

hey—reporting from the game. Clearly I need to go more often.
Also, I’d be happy to see Cole get the rest of the day off..
