OKAY, that was more like it.  Always nice to put seven runs on a future Hall of Famer.

We should have a good one on tap this afternoon on FOX, with highly touted and talented Clayton Kershaw facing off against Cole Hamels, who on Tuesday finally won his first game since sometime in Bush's first term, I think.

Manuel put his "run scoring" lineup in last night (Dobbs and Coste vs. Feliz and Ruiz) and it seemed to work.  It'll be interesting to see what he does tonight.

Mark Grace just called the Phillies front runners on the Fox pregame show.

Howard’s also batting cleanup against LHP Kershaw.

eek, Hamels now looking pretty shaky to start the 3rd.

needs to keep the fastball down.

Let me go on record as saying what most of us already know.

Tim McCarver is a farking MORON

by Cluttered_JML on Aug 23, 2008 4:38 PM EDT reply actions

Ryan Howard really should not be in the lineup today.

by FuquaManuel on Aug 23, 2008 4:43 PM EDT reply actions

Agreed…Eric Bruntlett can do what Howard is doing in just as shitty of a fashion.

by Cluttered_JML on Aug 23, 2008 4:44 PM EDT up reply actions

Excepting Manny Ramirez, the Dodger’s lineup is remarkably even talent levels. Everyone has an OPS between .730 and .820 from spots 1-8.

Yeah, can’t really be giving up hits to pitchers who are 0 for 20.

by FuquaManuel on Aug 23, 2008 5:06 PM EDT reply actions

One of the first things I learned as a young kid from my father was ‘nothing good ever comes of letting the pitcher on base.’

Tim McCarver voices the opposite opinion of Mark Grace, Phillies fans are not front runners.

I am riveted.

Tim McCarver – one of the best riveters who ever riveted.

something brewing here.

Lady Luck is smiling upon us.

I am usually against a 3-0 green light for Howard, but this time, it pays. 6-2 Phils

by Cluttered_JML on Aug 23, 2008 5:22 PM EDT reply actions

With runners on and 1B open, it makes more sense there than it usually does.

by christonabike on Aug 23, 2008 5:23 PM EDT up reply actions

Howard with the 2B off a LHP. I like it when he spites me.

by christonabike on Aug 23, 2008 5:23 PM EDT reply actions

Hopefully, he will continue to spite you until late October ;)

Offense? Wow. It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other. You are looking good.

by FuquaManuel on Aug 23, 2008 5:53 PM EDT reply actions

Take the walk Howard, don’t do something stupid.

by FuquaManuel on Aug 23, 2008 5:56 PM EDT reply actions

hey—reporting from the game. Clearly I need to go more often.

Also, I’d be happy to see Cole get the rest of the day off..
