Oooh baby baby, it's a Wild Card: Brewers at Phillies, Game Two: 9/14/08
Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies, Sep 14, 2008 7:35 PM EDT
Okay kiddies, now this is getting exciting. This afternoon the Phillies overcame a two run deficit in the 7th inning to surge past "Special Ned" Yost and the fading Milwaukee Brewers, winning 7-3. The Phillies now sit just ONE GAME behind the Brewers for the Wild Card lead, and 1 1/2 games in back of the Mets (albeit 2 games in the loss column). A win ties the Phillies for the Wild Card lead. A loss puts them two games back. Nope, not a big game tonight. Not at all.
Brett Myers goes for the Phillies on three days rest against Jeff Suppan. Howard and Rollins are hot. Burrell's hitting the ball a little better. No reason they can't win this. Which means the Phils will lose 15-0, I just know it.
Strap yourselves in. I don't have this one on TV. Hopefully you do.

Not only has Brett Myers been pitching better than Hamels, he’s now hitting better than him too.

Again, Richie Ashburn is rolling over in his grave so rapidly that if you attached a generator to his toe you could solve the energy crisis.
Never bunt with runners on first and third.
Not able to watch the game – stupid ass MLB restrictions – were even the outs against Suppan hard hit?
Some were, some weren’t…sorry if that is completely unhelpful. If I had to characterize the outs I would say that the balls hit in the air were generally line drives while the balls on the ground tended to be easy outs.
No prob…just trying to get a feel for a game that I can’t see…which is frustrating since I loyally watch every inning.
