Ladies and gentlemen... boys and girls.  Dyin' time's here!

So Hanna ruined a lot of people's plans, but that's cool.  We get a double-header today.  Combine that with Eagles kickoff and it's damn near the biggest Philadelphia sports day in decades.

In the Thunderdome of the National League East, the Phillies are obviously Mad Max -- nothing to lose, everything to gain, pronounced underdog.  The Mets are the big, dopey Blaster.  A sweep ties the Phillies with the Mets.  If the Mets win just one game today, the Phillies are two games back without much of a difference in the difficulty of their schedules from here out -- Advantage: Mets.

Crafty old men Jamie Moyer and Pedro Martinez take the first game.  Hopefully Moyer can improve on his last outing against the Mets.  Phhhheeewwwww....

And just like that Ryan Howard does exactly what we NOT need. Good lord I am too wound up for this.

Thank GOD for Jayson Werth. Would love for him to recreate his performance at Wrigley.

Trying to follow both the Eagles and the Phillies. God, I need to figure out how to get split screen.

Only one here posting but my goodness that was some nice baseball from your 5, 6, and 7 hitters

Ruiz with a hit! Come on Moyer!

Carlos Ruiz… starting to win em back.

Me too, FM. Screen in screen would be fine.

Haha, Harry just called “90210” “Nine-zero-two-one-zero”. I love old people.

scared of moyer throwing so many pitches in two innings.
Also Easly scares me against Moyer as well

by Erufus2 on Sep 7, 2008 2:48 PM EDT reply actions

and just like, he produces. In Moyer we trust

Golson’s first big-league AB: as expected.

Can’t believe Moyer’s stuff is working that well. But I guess if ever a pitcher were able to get in a team’s head, he’d be the guy.

Please stop this now. 1 friggin out please!

Eyre making me more nervous than he really should have. But he stopped the bleeding.

Madson, I am holding my breath. I would REALLY hate to see Lidge have to come in with men on base.

by FuquaManuel on Sep 7, 2008 4:57 PM EDT reply actions

Not crazy about the move here. Madson is pretty good against lefty hitters, and Romero can be wild.

by dajafi on Sep 7, 2008 5:02 PM EDT reply actions

Totally agree. He got a K and gave up a chopper. Leave him in and save the rest for tonight.

Great move by Manuel.

Well, whatever happens later on I would say that this series has been a success. Go get em tonight Cole! See you all in 3 hours…
