Around SBN: Tiger Woods, Tony Romo Grouped Together At Pebble Beach

On the upside, the Mets didn't get him.

On the downside, we didn't get him. And the Braves are better. I still can't imagine them topping the Phillies and Mets next season. And maybe not even the Marlins.

Kawakami, the Japanese guy they signed, could be the key to their whole team. I read somewhere that he’s a similar pitcher to Kuroda; if he’s that good, the Braves have a legit rotation with Lowe, who’s close to an ace; Jurrjens, who’s probably a solid #3; and Vasquez, who’s a good #4. They also have one great starter prospect who should be ready by midseason. And with three 200-inning guys in Lowe, Kawakami and Vasquez, their bullpen will be that much better.

I suspect it’s right that they aren’t quite ready to run with the Phillies and Mets, but some good breaks could put them in the race.

I find it hard to worry too much about a team that runs that Frenchie anchor out there on a daily basis. Nonetheless, the pitching could be legit, especially if Tommy Hanson emerges this season.

Hanson, that’s the guy I was thinking of. They were raving about him in the AzFL.

Is there a Braves prospect hype machine? Because it’s that, or the consensus on this guy is that he’s really, really awesome.

I love when young talent enters the league, but not at our expense!

i'm not worrying about the braves...

what i’m worried about right now are the contracts for our arb-eligible players, and as far as the season coming up (i just renewed my sunday plan), i’m worried about the WS hangover…

I’m worried that Reuben Amaro is making the team worse than it was when it ended the season – and it’s great they won the world series and all but it’s not like they were a 95 win team last year.

its the braves

with bobby cox, they could throw anyone on the field and somehow be in contention. i always worry. if you aren’t getting better, you’re gonna worse

I loves hyperbole based on the media over hyping a guy or over stating the impact of a manager (ponderous research to the contrary)

I think we should look into trading for Jeff Francoeur. Remember how good he seemed two years ago? He was on the cover of SI ! Just forget about his numbers last year and give us Cole Hamels in return.

Did anyone see Kruk on Aqua Teens?

I’m told Aqua Teen Hunger Force is mostly watched by college students who are very very high

I think that explains it all
