Myers in, Cairo out
So Tweets Andy Martino. I probably would have kept Cairo over Bruntlett, or maybe over Antonio Bastardo, but I'm glad Myers is back in the mix. When he's healthy and right in his head, he can shut down quality hitters, and we're going to need that.

I’ll admit: I hate the 5-man bench, though it makes some amount of sense to keep 12 pitchers with the DH in play, and a patient Yankees lineup. And completely agreed that I’d take Cairo over Bruntlett, though I guess if either of them is pinch hitting, you’re probably in a whole lot of trouble.
As for you, Brett Myers: this is how you ride off into the sunset out of Philadelphia. Embrace the opportunity, and please give us some good innings in relief if called upon.

backups?
Don’t you need at least one guy who can play backup shortstop or 2nd?

That is why they picked Bruntlett. He can play every position except catcher and pitcher (I think). NOt that he can play any of them well, however. I hate to admit but after Cairo lack of production, I would have picked Bruntlett also. And as PhillyFriar stated, we are in a heap of trouble if we need Bruntlett to pinch hit!
