Yeah, that’s about what we’re having here in Denver, except we have the snow version of mist. It’s not really showing up on radar either.

A-Rod’s steroid use has not been made a bigger deal in this post-season. I swear if he wins MVP of this series (god-forbid yanks win) i don’t know what i’ll do.

When two players appear to be about equal in all-around value, run scoring and run prevention, you have to go with the better defender. A run saved is more valuable than a run scored.

?

Hunh?

Remember the Phitans

by RememberthePhitans on Oct 28, 2009 10:25 PM EDT up reply actions

There are diminishing returns with runs scored.

There’s also a cumulative effect to poor defense and pitching that doesn’t apply to poor hitting.

It’s complicated.

by Jay on Oct 28, 2009 10:26 PM EDT up reply actions

I figured that with infielders they have way more defensive chances than ABs.

by Wet Luzinski on Oct 28, 2009 10:27 PM EDT up reply actions

I’m not sure about that, but that still wouldn’t do it. The variability of defensive performance still adds up to far less than the variability of offense performance, in terms of pure outs vs. baserunners.

Actually, I should go and do some math on this, but I won’t tonight.
