Chase Utley Sets Post-Season Record for Consecutive Games on Base
Lost in the hubbub of Cliff Lee's defensive wizardry (and I think he also pitched well, too, right?), Chase Utley's power, and the offense's never-let-up-ness was the fact that Utley set the record last night by getting on base in 26 consecutive post-season games.
Consecutive hit streaks are so 20th century. The real streaks for the 21st century are on-base streaks. Kudos Chase!

Utley doesn’t get overlooked nationally per se, but I feel for someone who’s such a good ballplayer, he’s somewhat downplayed. Perhaps now doing this on such a stage against the Yanks will get him more respect.

Another crazy stat.
From Beerleaguer (via Scott Lauber of the News-Journal): “Chase Utley joined Babe Ruth as the only left-handed hitter to smack two homers off a left-handed pitcher in a World Series game.”
This Chase Utley guy… he’s alright.
