SBN Postseason Baseball Awards -- National League Cy Young Award
The next round of awards has been released. Who wins the SBNation Cy Young Award in the National League? After the jump...
Congratulations to Tim Lincecum, who received either a first or second place vote on all ballots. Cardinals power duo Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright finished second and third, respectively.
Philadelphia Phillies new ace Cliff Lee received one third place vote. And it wasn't from me!
Check back tomorrow for the National League MVP voting, and it may shock you! But, it probably won't.

NL Gold Gloves
Rollins and Victorino awarded gold gloves, again.

I honestly believe that Utley is being penalized for his bat, which is comical considering how normally, you have to have a good bat to win the gold glove.
It’s like second order irony.

Last three 2B NL winners:
Brandon Phillips (08)
Orlando Hudson (06, 07, 09)
Luis Castillo (03-05)

I think the voters just don’t actually watch the players they’re voting on. Utley should have a gold glove, and Victorino should not. I think they just say “oh, I remember [Player] is a good fielder, and there isn’t any overwhelming evidence to the contrary… gold glove!”

what
utley is not gold glove.. hudson is far superior .. utley is above average .. victorino has good glove .. maybe not gold glove worthy .. but more deserving then chase
An inconsistent coach is far worse than an inconsistent quarterback.(Route 36)

Uh, Chase and Shane play different positions. Shane winning does not effect whether Utley wins also.
Also, why do all of your comments read as if you know everything there is to know? Have you ever had a real conversation in your life or do they always go something like this:
Person A: “I like guacamole.”
You: “Guacamole is awful…salsa con queso is good…maybe not as good as pico de gallo…but absolutely better than guacamole.”
You are probably just a joy to hang out with.

That fake guacamole conversation is priceless. Well done, sir.

FM is right of course. But even if there were only one Gold Glove regardless of position, Utley would be a more deserving candidate than Victorino. In fact, Utley is arguably the best fielder at ANY position in all of major league baseball.
The answer to this issue is determined by facts, not your vague impressions from things you heard on the radio.

Do you believe the words you’re saying?
I really have to think you are some sort of idiot who assumes this persona cause it amuses you.
It’s either that, or you’re more challenged than Forrest GUmp

Hudson is average – his 0.982 fld% is exactly average, and his 4.84 RF/9 was .02 below average. His percentage of fielded balls resulting in outs is 0.94, which is 0.01 higher than average.
By comparison, Utley has a fld% of 0.984, an RF/9 of 5.05, and a 0.94 fielded balls into outs ratio – everything’s better than Hudson except the balls:outs ratio.

I kind of feel like the voters should have been able to pick Carpenter/Wainwright as one entity.
