Just goes to show that he (and the core) are not particularly young anymore.

midpoint.

The core is getting older, but not really old yet. They are getting there. That is the main reason I am glad the Phillies did not sell the farm for Halladay. The team will need to restock the farm system consistently to stay competitive .

We don't play stats, we play baseball.

The Yankees core isn’t exactly full of spring chickens and they won the WS.

by doubleh on Nov 19, 2009 7:01 PM EST reply actions

True, but those guys were really, really, really good when they were younger. Plus you’ve gotta wonder how many more seasons Jeter and Rivera can put together like this one.

by zfg on Nov 20, 2009 10:50 AM EST up reply actions

I’m convinced Rivera will be 90 and still have an unhittable cut fastball. That man is not human.

by Cormican on Nov 20, 2009 1:20 PM EST up reply actions

He’s not a private plane enthusiast, is he? It may be our only hope at this point.

by Wet Luzinski on Nov 20, 2009 7:23 PM EST up reply actions

Oh, that’s rough.

by Cormican on Nov 20, 2009 10:42 PM EST up reply actions

Is it ever the right time to mockingly joke about a tragedy?

by jemagee on Nov 21, 2009 12:13 PM EST up reply actions

It gives me flasjbaCKS TO Islanders fans chanting “Buy A Porsche” at Hextall the year after Lidbergh died.

by Cormican on Nov 22, 2009 7:53 PM EST up reply actions

Eh, 30 is the new 20.

by taco pal on Nov 19, 2009 8:15 PM EST reply actions

No worries

He’s not a a RB. He’s a ball player. Jamie Moyer turned 30 in 1992.

by Mgarv002 on Nov 19, 2009 10:36 PM EST reply actions

Yes finesse pitchers and power hitters are EXACTLY the same

by jemagee on Nov 19, 2009 11:13 PM EST up reply actions

Relax

I was kidding. My point was just that 30 isn’t that old for a first baseman compared to an NFL running back when it’s usually the end of the line.

by Mgarv002 on Nov 22, 2009 3:19 AM EST up reply actions

Well good cause now we’re comparing totally different sports AND positions which definitely adds strength to your ludicrous initial statement

by jemagee on Nov 22, 2009 11:49 AM EST up reply actions

Jeebus

Can you not be a dickhead for five minutes? Just try, will you?

by phatj on Nov 22, 2009 1:32 PM EST up reply actions

He can’t. He knows acting like that to someone in “real life” will get him smacked and/or punched, so he comes here and does it.

by FuquaManuel on Nov 23, 2009 12:03 AM EST up reply actions

Yep

That is true about him. Read the sixers blog sometime and read his messages, they are just as bad if not worse

by sixer83 on Nov 23, 2009 4:47 PM EST up reply actions

Just because I can spell words you never heard of before is no reason to get uppity

by jemagee on Nov 24, 2009 10:30 PM EST up reply actions

Except as i’ve said repeatedly – i’m exaclty the same in real life as opposed to you you nihlistic whining pussy?

by jemagee on Nov 24, 2009 10:30 PM EST up reply actions

So then I bet you are averaging something like a black eye and a broken nose per week. Seriously, if this is who you really must be a joy to be around. I bet people are lining up around the block to hear John E. Magee’s opinions on all earthly matters. In reality you are probably that miserable fuck who won’t shut up and feels the need to inject their unsolicited opinion into every single conversation. You are that pathetic prig who thinks he is always right and intellectually superior to everyone despite actually being pretty uneducated about most of the things you try to speak authoritatively on.

But you seem to think it is cool being you and irritating people for no other reason than because you like to see what happens and maybe because it feeds your sense of being intellectually superior to everyone. There is, however, a word for people like you on the internet: troll.

Also, if you are going to accuse me of being any of those things, you better come with proof. I will admit to being that way in the past, but it has been a long time.

by FuquaManuel on Nov 24, 2009 11:26 PM EST up reply actions

By the way, it’s no wonder you have been banned from practically every Philly sports discussion board on the web.

You aren’t in the business of “discussing” anything, you never were. In fact, you have probably never been in a real discussion in your life, because you will never admit that you were wrong…ever…because (self proclaimed) geniuses are never wrong.

by FuquaManuel on Nov 24, 2009 11:29 PM EST up reply actions

Sure – you figure it out and i’ll follow your lead

Howard came up old…Sure he isn’t approaching 30 anymore but it is baseball and all that wisdom is going to flow… Whatever WFC 2010…

Come on! I’ll be 31 in February, I’m not old!

Scar tissue is stronger than muscle tissue. Realize the strength, move on.

And I turn 32 next week

Except my (part-time) job is the whine on the Internet about baseball, not to swat baseballs 400 feet 40+ times a year.

At 42 (next week), the only trick left in my bag is to lift and separate.

Man you guys are gray bushes……(Grandma’s Boy anyone?) just kidding…
