I will bet you 1,000 dollars that the phillies do not make a serious push for cliff lee after the season is over.

He wants too many years, he’ll break the budget, and they will have at least two possibly 3 or 4 much more pressing needs

only the Flyers would do something like that

Forget that—can he score a freaking goal?

Hell, if he can just lay across the crease that may be an upgrade in goal.

Can we just get over this?

What, are you donkeys in 3rd grade or something? Let the man have a voice without belittling the person, dickworm.

And let those who find his post ridiculous say so with out belittling their right to have an opinion.

Also, next time you might want to avoid the name calling when asking people to stop name calling, it sort of weakens your argument.

Or maybe this is pre emptive in regards to you ‘buzz’ about the DH in the NL which has been talked about for at least the last 5 years or so?

Lighten up, let people join the conversation without driving them away. Good job on calling me out on the name-calling, that was totally unintentional… catching the sarcasm too?

As for the DH debate, yes it’s been discussed since the 1960’s. Get over yourself, I’m not expecting the everyday contributors to comment on that post.

Hey you’re the one who called it a ‘trending buzz’ – that’s your phrase not mine.

If dude can’t take a little criticism for elementary flaws in logic and a lack of comprehension of why the phillies did what they did he should be called out on it, how else will he improve?

by jemagee on Dec 23, 2009 11:13 AM EST up reply actions

I used 2 recent examples, both from widely recognized sports news websites. Those examples really are what we’d call “buzz” being created to stir conversation. I suppose I used “trend” because the DH conversation has caught on with those 2 sites in particular.

They can be ‘hidden’ but i don’t know if that’ retroactive only or going forward as well (just saying he asked a question)

Does anyone else think that the bar set for Roy Halladay is ridiculously high, considering the circumstances he’s coming to Philadelphia are? He’s a former Cy Young winner and perrinial all-star, so he’s got those expectations to live up to. Throw in the fact that we want him to be an upgrade over the four month performance of Cliff Lee, in which he beat the Yankees twice in the World Series.

There’s no doubt that Halladay is a better and more consistent pitcher than Lee, but Halladay will have to be damn near perfect to statistically be an upgrade over Cliff.

Merry Christmas and Happy Halladays to all.

You guys are going to wet your pants with excitement

when you see Halladay pitch every 5th day. His fastball and cutter have such filthy movement and he has a stupendous curveball and a changeup that flat out embarrasses lefties. Dude is pretty much his own setup man and closer. He’s the only pitcher I’m actively in awe of when he goes against my team. With your offense and him facing a pitcher 3 times a game he’ll probably win 25 games, 9 of which will be CG’s.

Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.
