Griffey to Braves
The 2000 Phillies are very nervous.

Given that it’s likely for a minimal cost (rumored to be about $2 million), it’s not actually a bad signing. Despite his downturn over the past couple of years, Griffey’s 3-year splits still show that he’s a .284/.378/.508 hitter against RHP. If Bobby Cox is smart enough to sit Junior against all southpaw starters (and give those at bats to some combination of Matt Diaz and Jeff Francoeur), then he’ll end up being a valuable piece.
That being said, I’m happy the Braves wound up with Junior instead of Dunn or Abreu.

If Griffey can stay off of the DL and on the field, he can add some much needed pop to the Braves lineup. That said, the Braves still don’t make me very nervous with their offense. I can’t see Griffey or Jones staying healthy all season.

Looks like this wasn't a done deal. He's going to the Mariners now.
Just saw it on ESPN.
