April 10, 2009 - Phillies Breakfast Links
The Phillies hit the road in Colorado today to take on their 2007 NLDS tormentors in a three game series. Cole Hamels pitches his first game of the season. Jack McCaffery gives us this confusing jam to chew on. Scott Lauber has this to say.
J.C. Romero yells at cloud. For what it's worth, I thought those "Free J.C." t-shirts were from The 700 Level...
Bill Conlin also yells at cloud... a big, rich, buttery one.
OK, "it's time to stop celebrating," WE GET IT.
Talking Chop says the NL East might be the best division in baseball.
The Reading Phillies bullpen pulled a Metropolitan and blew a late lead; the Harrisburg Senators went on to win in 10 innings, 6-5.
Kyle Drabek pitched the opener for the Clearwater Threshers, going five strong innings, giving up two hits, three walks, and striking out seven. The Threshers won, 5-2. This is a very important year for Drabek, he did very well in Hawaii over the winter and could be a pretty special pitcher.
SWB slams the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 11-3.

No way to tell if the NL East is the best division in baseball at this point, but the poster in that thread who said the Mets have the best rotation in the division is on crack. It’s got to be the Marlins or Braves. Mets and Phils have similar question marks with regard to SP. Did this guy see Oliver Perez’ line from yesterday’s game? 4.1IP, 8R, 5BB. He’s Brett Myers times 2.
