Marquis De Sad: Rockies rock Hamels, top Phillies 10-3
WOW that was bad. Cole Hamels' worst career start, three double plays for Ryan Howard, and a lineup that hit a collective 1 for 23 outside of Jayson Werth and Chase Utley. Happy Home Opener, Colorado!
It's not even that Jason Marquis was particularly good; the Phillies offense was just so dreadful and could not get any timely hits. The aforementioned Jayson Werth was the only Phillie who did anything meaningful at the plate, going 4 for 4 with two doubles and a too little, too late 9th inning solo home run.
Holy moley. Glad I had to work most of the way through that one.
Go get 'em tomorrow, I guess.

Why Hamels now??
What was the logic behind starting Hamels in the cold, high elevation hitter’s park, after having a spring with arm trouble, not enough work, and last spring starts showing not really ready to go yet.
Why not wait for the Nationals series?
