Never should have been brought up in the first place. They said last night that it was Charlie who wanted KK brought up. This kid is probably wrecked.

Good. Now hopefully we never see him again. Still doesn’t appear that he can or ever will be able to get major league hitters out and it is pretty clear that the changeup they were supposed to be working on is non-existent.

There’s no factual basis for the “ever will” part of your statement. The odds haven’t been in his favor since the beginning, but seeing him fail in one game yesterday after two months in AAA adds essentially nothing to our understanding of that question.

Okay, sure, being hyperbolic is illegal on the internet, forgot that.

But still: he will MOST LIKELY not be able to get major league hitters out without first improving his command of his fastball and developing a pitch with which he can be even moderately successful against left handed hitters (changeup).

Hyperbole is legal. So is disputing it, thanks very much.

I actually agree with you that Kendrick is less likely than not to amount to anything in the future. I just don’t think yesterday’s game means anything in that analysis. Even if you had asked any reasonable Kendrick skeptic in March “if we bring KK back for one game in June and he pitches poorly does that mean the reclamation project has failed?” the answer would have been, of course not.

For sure. I am just glad that he will not be on the team long enough for a large enough sample size to accrue that we can reasonable conclude what we should have known based on his recent minor league stats and major league history — that he is not a major league pitcher.

So – not available yesterday but available today?

That sounds – um – stupid?

"Someone created the box score," Morey says, "and he should be shot."

Blocked shots — they look great, but unless you secure the ball afterward, you haven’t helped your team all that much.

Um – no? Chad Durbin was not available yesterday but presumably is available today. You see, as pitchers get more and more rest, their availability increases.

Hello Jerky Jerkington.

Nope – he just lacks any sense of light heartedness or humor in his soul – haven’t you noticed?

Kendrick was called up on June 12, not June 11. Escalona pitched 2.0 innings on June 11.

His heavy usage in the past 10 days really meant he would have been no good…i mean he pitched 1 inning on the 9th and 2 innings on the 11th – he must have been exhausted

Hard to tell if this is supposed to be sarcasm, because if it was it wouldn’t make any sense. Are you really trying to represent that it wouldn’t concern you at all to throw a 24-year-old pitcher out there on back-to-back nights when he pitched multiple innings on the first night? Also, keep in mind that the only reason why anyone was going to be brought up for June 12 was to be a long reliever and last man out of the bullpen, and thus, would have had to be available to pitch multiple innings in an emergency situation.

The moves made sense in that Escalona couldn’t have worked in the game that Kendrick ultimately lost. Nor could Carpenter, who had pitched seven innings a day or two before.

So let’s not all be a-holes about it.
