THIS, folks... THIS is why we have Interleague Play. 1993 grudge match? 2008 took the piss out of that, huh?
Cole Hamels will try to recover from last week's subpar start against the Mets.
Discuss the game below.

Sarge is in fine form with his hat tonight.
The reason we need this is to pay back Cito Gaston for 1993.

More so that while the phillies get the blue jays the mets are playing baltimore

Do you thinks Feliz and Ruiz sit in the dugout wondering why in all the lineup shuffles, when they’re currently two of the best bats, they’ve been ‘stuck’ at 7/8 the whole season?

I love this tag line
The Nationals appear poised to fire thoroughly competent manager Manny Acta, but they’d still be a bad team.

Was it a throw to second – he’s been bad at those for a while and losing weight wasn’t going to make him better at it

Something about that throw messes him up – i really wonder if he’s got some sort of perception issue but his hitting seems to contradict it

It was discussed a little the other day when he did it also. He short arms the ball which causes a sailing effect, and I also think he doesn’t get a good cross seamed grip on it, which exacerbates the problem.

You’d think, especially since his problem is so mechanically-centered. The slot that he drops his arm is problematic for his short-arm tendencies.

Happy Human….your Hawk tagline would’ve infuriated me until I saw he was an oldish guy. I used to think him as an assinine homer. Now I just think of him as a clueless old guy homer who his fans probably like.
Some White Sox fans don’t like him at all. The rest of us have an attitude of amused tolerance, like Hawk is an overly talkative, occasionally embarrassing older relative. He likes to talk about his playing days, “Yaz” (Carl Yastrzemski), and his golf game. I enjoy his play-by-play announcing and his home run call is one of the best, but he gets annoying when he starts complaining about the umpiring.
He is a homer, but most announcers are, really. Hawk is just blatantly obvious about it. He does say nice things about the other teams’ players, though.

must’ve been about 5 years or so ago when I was introduced to him. Madson’s first start and the ChiSox batted around the first inning. Hearing “stretch” and “put it on the board” with every homer just salted the wounds. Then the phils tied it up in the bottom half and he STFU. (Sox went on to win tho).
He made a bad first impression. but like I said…since he’s an old doofus, harder to hate.
