If he can come in and be more effective than Moyer — which I am pretty sure he can — then isn’t it worth making the move?
I suppose – but i don’t know how much more effective he can be than Moyer – people smarter than me can project that :)

He’s not sam dalembert for gods sake, he’s still useful, i’m not suggesting kill him, just thank him and give him a nice job as a pitching coach :)

Well he can learn :) He can contribute to the success of the phillies even if he’s not on the 25 man roster whereas that other guy :)

I would contend that he might be even less useful to our team than Dalembert is to the Sixers, even.
Moyers role as ‘role model’ to young pitchers trumps anything that dude does – plus – you want speights modelling himself after the haitian sensatin?

I love baseball, but I`m not so good with speculations and technical facts..
so does anyone have an educated opinion of this team`s poor-mediocre performance at home this year?
ive done a lot of homefield advantage research and honestly probably just dumb luck. it’s statistical randomness. there are a few teams every year that overplay on the road and underplay at home, and vice versa, and there doesn’t seem to be any consistency to which team is which. so it’s probably just a situation where they had the balls fall in on the road more than home.
