Raul Ibanez to DL; Mayberry recalled
Groin injury. This news can only be considered great.
For what it's worth I'd bring up Michael Taylor instead.

But why?
Werth is one of the better fielding RF in baseball, and we saw in the Yankees series how switching outfield spots — for someone who isn’t used to it — can wreak havoc with your jumps and reads. Mayberry, meanwhile, has been playing both outfield spots for the IronPigs (if I’m not mistaken). It just makes zero sense to me.

I just thought Mayberry was more comfortable in right. Had no real reason for it. If he can go left then put him in left.

Was there last night. Ibanez definitely looked like he was struggling to get any kind of acceleration, especially on his DP ball. His fielding took a slight hit, but it was much more noticeable when trying to get out of the batter’s box.
Hopefully it isn’t too serious.

Yikes.
With the back of the rotation something of a mess, we’d been relying on the bats to bail us out; and the offense already hasn’t exactly been firing on all cylinders lately. We can only thank our lucky stars that the Mets are banged up far worse than our Phils.
And while I love Taylor, he’s been nursing a bit of an injury himself lately (I can’t seem to recall what, but I think it’s a hamstring or groin strain as well). Mayberry’s earned his shot at this point, and while I think he’s a platoon guy in the end, he gives us an additional viable threat against LHP in the meantime.

And now I am hearing it could be longer than 15 days.
Great! Awesome! Excellent!

Yeah, Amaro didn’t sound very upbeat about it. Strained groin can be bad news. Hope it’s not more serious than a strain.

Now would really be a good time for Jimmy Rollins to become competent at the plate.
