Charlie Manuel on Brad Lidge, who blew his sixth save of the season today in LA: "He'll always be my guy."

Per Zolecki tweet

"Always" is a really long time. Is he delusional? This kind of idiotic loyalty could very well be our undoing.

Umm…well on the upside he didn’t say closer, he just said my guy – so maybe it’s just a whole ’we’re buds’ kind of thing :)

"Someone created the box score," Morey says, "and he should be shot."

Blocked shots — they look great, but unless you secure the ball afterward, you haven’t helped your team all that much.

True. This might not exactly be “Rex Grossman is the quarterback” stuff, but it damn sure ain’t encouraging.

Cholly’s stubborn refusal to drop Rollins down to the 8 spot in the lineup is equally frustrating.

Congrats ...

you have an old manager sticking with his early season decisions. Us Dodger fans have no idea why Matt Kemp isn’t batting 4th or 5th. I’m convinced Matt insulted Joe’s late mother’s marinara sauce recipe.

Oh sure, at least he isn’t retarded like Jim Tracy and doesn’t shuffle the lineup everyday like Davey Johnson. But dropping the league leader in outs made (JRoll) to 7th or 8th is a much better idea than giving him most of the plate appearances on your team. This is almost like when Grady Little batted Juan Pierre (ha!) 1st or 2nd for two whole years and he led the league in outs made.

It would be one thing to leave Lidge as the closer and hope he gets it together if the team didn’t have any other options… but they’ve got a guy in Madson who could be fantastic in the role.
