LIDGE...UGGGGHHHH!!

2 blown saves in a row!  OUCH!!  i'm willing to forgive a blown save every now and then, thats baseball..Anyway, i'm wondering if we are seeing the "real" Brad Lidge this year.  After all it was a contract year for him last year. Granted he signed the extension halfway through, but maybe he put pressure on himself to prove his extensions worth last year in the 2nd half, and this year, with him being the one who will be there with the tugger as one of only 2 men who threw a phillies ws winning pitch. I think hes not pushing himself, after all he has a new deal and he won the wold series. Thats my theory. I think we're seeing the true Lidge., the post Albert Pugols home run lidge who struggled for 2 years after that..  Anyway, we can't have that. Can we win the division with him as our closer the way the rest o the division is playing? Probably, but 6 blown saves in 20 opportunities is absolutely horrible. I nominate Lidge to go to the 7th, Romero the 8th, and Madson as closer. Of course who knows how ryan would perform in a higher pressure situation the 9th, but it can't hurt to try..

The poll

This poll isn’t bad but I liked the other poll better

Then stop complaining about it and make one already

"Someone created the box score," Morey says, "and he should be shot."

Blocked shots — they look great, but unless you secure the ball afterward, you haven’t helped your team all that much.

i think it might be the fact that they won the world series, and now this fame is getting to his head.

Yeah. This might be the dumbest thing I have read all night.

by FuquaManuel on Jun 8, 2009 12:17 AM EDT up reply actions

really?

why.

maybe i should have elaborated before i got attacked. my bad.
its happened to others before, so i don’t see why lidge would be untouchable,
but lidge didn’t blow a save last year, and might have a feeling that he is invincible.
he has a perfect season and his team goes on to win the world series.
could it be possible that maybe this season he blows a save, and feels worthless after riding high all last year?
i think he could have a hot head because he’s not used to losing.

i’m sorry to have offended you,
but “with all due respect Fuqua Manuel”
This is a passionate argument for me on why i think we need to go in another direction. It is not “dumb” if you don’t agree, TELL ME WHY Give me your opinion.

but as i read on to your response to phillybmore’s second post, i can see you are a mere troll.
and i’m sorry to feed the troll but i was due for a rant.

Yup. I’m a troll. I have something like 5,000 posts on this blog and yet I am still a troll.

On second thought, you were right. The problem is clearly that Brad Lidge has let his fame go to his head. Not that he might be injured or that his stuff isn’t as good as it was last year or that he has not been as lucky. The problem is that Brad Lidge — who has gone through similar struggles at different moments in his career — has gotten a fat head.

no,

the fact that you say
“I could care less bout your post and only read the first sentence”
makes me think that you would only be a troll.

but thanks for taking my argument into consideration,
i figured we were all friends on this site, we all have something in common at least,
but i didn’t know i would get attacked for bringing something else to the table.
but hey, i figured it was something to think about, but apparently its not.
i’m sorry to offend you.

With all due respect Fuqua Manuel..

That is a passionate argument for me on why I think we need to go in another direction. It is not"dumb" If you don’t agree TELL ME WHY Give me your opinion as to why he should stay the closer. Personally, he had 4 huge games vs the yankees and Dodgers and blew them..In huge game vs quality opposition we need a closer to shut the door. thats all..

Wieters is HERE and The Phils are in First, doesn't get much better:)

Not your post, Willy C’s post. I could care less about your post and only read the first sentence.
