Let me take a wild guess . . .
. . . he’s “toolsy?”
MLB Draft
We shall see in 5 years or so.

FTFA
His dad, Dennis Dugan, is the director of such films as “Happy Gilmore,” “You Don’t Mess with the Zohan,” “Problem Child,” and “Big Daddy.”
This makes his son slappable by proxy.

Though I’m a little bit ashamed to say it, I kind of liked Happy Gilmore. But Big Daddy was bad. Haven’t seen the others.
I guess he used to be an actor too, in The Rockford Files.

Blocked shots — they look great, but unless you secure the ball afterward, you haven’t helped your team all that much.

My question of course would be, what, if any, ‘signability issue’ players were available at that spot that wouldn’t normally be available but the phillies wouldn’t be willing to ‘bust slot’ to sign him.
Steve Philips believes theres a 50:50 shot that strasburg is in the draft next year

I’m sure there were lots, but there’s a difference between busting slot and busting slot. The Phillies went above slot on a couple of guys last year if memory serves, but there comes a point when the demands get so high that it just isn’t worth it compared to taking the next guy. Even the Yankees and Red Sox pass on some guys for that season.
Well yeah I know that, but drafting a guy that low with a college commitment – that seems like a guy you don’t care much about signing unless you’re willing to bust slot?
I just wonder who was available there or not – recalling Law’s ‘evaluation’ of how the phils draft that’s all

I don’t understand what you’re saying. Is your point that the Phillies must be willing to bust slot this year because they picked HS players with college commitments, so the question is whether the players they picked are better than other players they would have had to bust slot for?
Nope – not my question at all – don’t worry about it
