Random Thoughts

Why don't MLB teams have minor league affiliates play in their parks when the big league squad is on a road trip?

I know the facilities people use the road trips to clean, prep, train, etc., but I'd imagine the added revenue (as well as having to maintain one fewer minor league facility) would more than compensate for this.

Can we add more?

RT: Why is stealing a base in the 9th with a 3 run lead considered defensive indifference, but a flyball in the bottom of the 10th with a man on third and less than two outs considered a hit?

For Who? My teammates.

For What? To Win.

How Much? Where do I sign?

Of course

I think this thread will be best if you read it to yourself in Andy Rooney’s voice.

Is the lower house cost in ventura worth the extra commuting time?

Seriously, how long do you commute to your job – and how long would you consider ‘too much’ for your job?

Well, unless we’re talking a dome or retractable roof, rainouts would be a royal PITA.

Why are there two baseball stadia in New York and Chicago when there could be just one?

I’m forever wondering why there can’t be more innovations to speed up the game, like a pitch clock, or automatic double plays if you call in any three defenders to face a particular batter and still get him out.

Isn’t there supposedly a defined amount of time between pitches – it’s just not enforced?

25 seconds, I think..

If nobody’s on base, it’s 12 seconds, but the clock starts once the batter is in the box and “alert to the pitcher.” As far as I know, there’s no pitch clock once someone’s on base, to allow the pitcher time to check the runner(s).

I’d love to see some club have the guts (balls?) to make it transparent and put a clock out fans could see. Or groups of fans who count down on the human rain delays, like Trachsel.
