Congrats to Utley and Ibanez.
Ibanez, don’t you dare play

I can’t believe Ibanez has never been to an ASG before. But I guess when you play on the same team as Ichiro for most of your career, you get overlooked.
That ball hit deep! Way back! You can put it on the boooaaaard...YES!
Long drive into deep right center field! This ball is OUTTA HEEERRRREE!

Well he’s also never had a season such as this or a rabid fanbase such as this…his numbers never really justified a manager or players pick…then again AS appearances are silly.
Time Wakefield second oldest player ever to make 1st all star game.

Rollins being ‘back’ would be a huge boost heading into the ASB

Just switched over here from the All-Star show. Good to see both Chase Utley and Charlie Manuel getting some interview time with David Wells & Co. I loved it when Charlie was asked why the team was doing so well on the road and so poorly at home: he said he used to give some reasons why, “But honestly, I don’t know.” What a refreshing answer.

Phanatic giving the popcorn shower to Sarge as a happy birthday present. Boy, it just sucks to be black in the Phillies organization.
Yeah, they really screwed over Ryan Howard when they ‘only’ gave him 54 million over 3 years didn’t they?

Good work by Blanton – time for the hitters to get some runs.

Sure is nice having the best second baseman in baseball on our team.

Gimpy comes out for B7 as Mets live dangerously and Phils continue to test the defense with high fly balls.
Murphy at 1b
Kept gesturing he lost the ball, which was OK, since it was a fly to medium right.
Does he really need more practice at that?

Is it time to bring in Romero or does Blanton go out to start the 8th?

Charlie is showing a lot of faith in Blanton here. Hope it’s warranted.

So, the wheels keep turning. Our bullpen with a two-run lead vs. theirs starting next inning. I’m cautiously optimistic.

Hmmm…if that runner scored, that would have counted toward’s Blanton’s ERA, but shouldn’t the out count as well?

Ok – I’m’ trying to get too excited cause, you know, phils own the mets, but I’d love this to be that ‘turn around’ series where the right people (Rollins, Lidge) start getting their act back together and at least start heading towards career averages instead of away

2-0
New season-low runs scored in a win. Previous was the 3-0 shutout by Hamels vs. Dodgers.
And how about that inning by Lidge.

I blame the beer
In the month of June, I had this variety case of Philadelphia Brewing Co. beer, which I generally like, but this case was skunky. I shouldn’t have, but I slogged through it anyway. Ran out on Wed. Picked up a case of Victory Prima Pils, and we are good to go.
Sort of like me changing my password back last Thursday. Things are going better now.
