Lets give Ben Francisco some credit

Francisco had 4 at bats and only hit 1 out of the 4. He did have an RBI though. Even though he flied out a few times he did show me he can hit the long ball. I also noticed his mechanics and how smoothly he swings the bat. This guy will contribute this year and is a great substitution for Shane. I also wanted to make a comment about his fielding but thanks to Cliff Lee, I dont think he even had to make a catch. I think we all were so excited about our new toy called Cliff Lee that we forgot to say welcome to Philly Ben Francisco.

He was a really solid second piece in that deal.

I’ve admired Shapiro for a long time, but I’m confounded both by the fact that he took back Marson when he has Santana on the way, and that he traded Francisco—a perfectly decent player who will be cheap for years yet—seemingly almost as an afterthought.
