I’m finding the Jamie Moyer situation a bit upsetting. I have the utmost respect for him for what he’s done both over the course of his career and for us, and of course his example off the field is inspiring. But I would think he would understand the situation we are in. I’d venture to say no one is pulling against him – everyone wants him to succeed – but he’s not performing consistently right now. I really wonder what he’s trying to accomplish with the bad attitude. I hope he knocks it off soon and doesn’t damage his sterling image here.
At least he’s not Brett Favre…

It doesn’t bother me personally. So he’s grumbling about the front office. Woop de doo. As long as he doesn’t go after his teammates, he’s allowed to be pissed.
Feelings, nothing more than feelings.

I can’t really fault Stewart. If he were my kid, I would have advised him to go to Stanford too.

Moyer
I don’t find the Moyer situation upsetting. Every time he wins a few games, he moves past somebody on the total win list. You can’t fault him for that.
The really old guy.

Marlins
Sez in the paper (or for you youngins, that new-fangled Innynet) that the Marlins have now had 10+ hits in a game for 14 consecutive games, longest since the 1937 St. Louis Browns. Quite a skein. Of course, after the Astros they go to ATL, so it’s likely to end there.
Also, this weekend could be quite an opportunity for the Phils (hopefully not to blow). While we play the derivative Mets, Fish and Braves play each other.
