Cole
Has his recent hot streak coincided with his recent modeling for Liberty Two? Just as I suspected. Keep doing those ads Cole!

Some amusing tidbits in that Hagen article.
Now that we’re looking at things from the other side, the magnitude of the Mets’ collapse in 2007 is all the more astounding. Can you imagine how stunning it would be to lose the division this year with the lead we have right now? But it’s almost exactly the same size as the lead the Mets had over us at this time in ’07.
1 of 3 in Atlanta, and best scenario is to take tonight’s game, and we keep the ’64 and ’07 wolves away from the door.

I may be off on the number of years he mentioned, but Tim Kurkjian was commenting how since the divisional/wild-card format began in 1995 only one team had blown a lead of 5 games or more with 17 games to play, which is what the Tigers would do if they don’t win this year. Unless they stop losing to the Twins they just might do it.

The Steve Perry/ “Don’t Stop Believing” piece was interesting. I can’t imagine writing an anthem that, say, Mets or Braves fans would co-opt, without needing constant antibacterial showers.
OTOH, I heard Michigan fans singing it in unison last Saturday and thought it sounded silly and mockable. So, in that respect, I’m happy that both UM and the Dodgers fans sing Journey.
In general, it never ceases to amaze me that Gary Glitter’s “Rock and Roll” and Queen’s “We Are the Champions” were written by some of the queerest guys ever, and have been co-opted by relentlessly macho jock culture as anthems.
Yeah, they were girls, but they were really young. He’s still a creep. I believe he’s not allowed entry into several countries because of various allegations of sex with minors.
Does that somehow make him less of a creep?
