Fulfilling the Brett Myers quotient since 2010

I kind of had the same thought. Vic just strikes me as kooky and high strung, more a fan of violence and mayhem than an bona fide perpetrator of it.

I don’t have a problem with either player, I tend to look past the personal life and look at them as the professional ballplayer, which is how I can say I’m a Pete Rose fan and want him in the HOF. Shane’s a meathead that motivates through his hard play. Myers was a meathead in general. Still liked him as a relief pitcher though

FWIW
Howard Eskin is on WIP tonight saying the Phillies are close to 3 year deals with Victorino and Blanton.
Interesting. Signing Shane would suggest that they aren’t planning on pursuing Werth after this season, which suggests that we may be looking at an Ibanez, Victorino, Brown outfield in 2011. Personally I would prefer Werth to Shane.

Werth > Shane
Any corroboration on the Blanton thing?

Hard to say for certain what may be available in the pipeline in 2011. If Jiwan James, Anthony Gose or some dude we don’t even have yet develops in time for 2011, keeping Werth becomes moot. If the system is barren of MLB ready OFs (which seems unlikely given that almost every top 30 prospect is an OF or Pitcher), maybe resigning Werth becomes more attractive.
