Today May Be the Last Day of the Season, So... What Are You Wearing?

He's got an excellent disguise. How about you? (Photo by Justin Sullivan/Getty Images)

It's time to raid the wardrobe for the Luckiest... Shirt....Ever. Turn the underwear inside-out. Set up the shrine to Base Ba'al. Light some candles. Buy a lucky six-pack. Shave your butt and teach your dog how to walk backwards. Take a bath for once, maybe use actual soap and shampoo to smell CLASSY, too. For once, whydontcha? Tonight, after all, could be the Last Day for Our Wonderful Team. So this simple post requests your fan-interactivity:

What are you wearing?

What routines will you follow?

What shrines have you built? How will you embellish them?

The innertoobs anxiously await your reply.

Go Phillies!

Be good.

For the love of God, be good.

By God, for Halladay!
For Philly and Bill Penn!

Same here. I got great seats from work and planned this 6 weeks ago, completely ignoring the playoff schedule. Black and orange with a red center.

I am currently wearing my blue Ruiz BP jersey, but am thinking of changing- but to what? While I wore this jersey for the final innings of last night’s game (put it on when I got off from work with the team leading), and they lost, they also lost when I wore the other two jerseys in tonight’s series. I actually thought of wearing nothing Phillies and can’t bring myself to.

Pretty much the choices are this one or put on my Halladay jersey— I wore it and this pair of jeans for the no hitter, but I also wore that jersey (other jeans) Saturday night. Thoughts?

I’m wearing a Jrue Holiday jersey. HA! Tonight I’m going to wear my Cliff Lee player t-shirt in order to bring some good luck to this squad!! And it will since he was #34 just like Doc.

Why is Polanco hitting 3rd instead of Utley?

you get that anyway with Utley hitting third

S, R, L…unless its about not having two lefties in a row with Howard hitting 4th.

Evil Grandma

I’ll get to your question in a minute. I just gotta remark that the picture of that prim and proper lady holding the “torture” sign is just awesome. She’s even replete with a horribly dated hairdo smothered in hair spray, oversized costumed jewelry earrings and oversized glasses. Oh how I wish she was a Phillies fan.

Tonight: no Phillies garb. I didn’t wear any in game two, so we’ll see if this has any sway. I also plan to keep my finger on the mute button in the event San Fran scores or McCarver pisses me off.

I don’t know… if you looked at me when I am at work, or working at the office, you would not know that I am a baseball fan- she may know more than you are giving her credit for. I have been able to win over a number of my male co-workers by talking about sports— I know football and the Phillies pretty well, and thus am able to keep up with them.

I brewed an Imperial Red IPA during the 2008 Post Season. By some fluke, it turned out to be the best beer I’ve ever brewed by FAR. I have about 5 bottles left and it ages great. I’ll be opening a bottle tonight in the hopes that some of that 2008 magic comes out.

Lucky Hat

During the ‘08 run I was desperate for a Phillies hat to wear to work (just moved and started a new job, plus I was about to get married, so with little to no available funds I had to make do with what I had). The retro hat I bought in ’07 didn’t work out. When I was back at my parent’s house I found a replica Interleague cap (with the blue brim and the star in the middle of the P), so I brought that back to DC with me and wore it (during the honeymoon as well, which as it turns out was during the NLCS).

At some point after the WS, the hat was put into a closet and was lost in there for a year and a half. Wound up finding it about a month and a half ago. I’ve been wearing it intermittently since, but tonight methinks I’ll wear it during the game.

by Aphilfan on Oct 21, 2010 5:41 PM EDT reply actions

Plus, I’ve got Phils flags on my car and one hanging off the front of my house. Plus a build-a-bear Phanatic guarding the TV.

I’m doing about all I can. If things look to be going bad, I’ll get out the Christmas decorations and boo them.

good idea

I think I will wear my Why Can’t Us shirt tonight too. Also, I have a standing bet with a Mets fan friend for a case of beer for whoever’s team finished higher in the standings (this bet has been very, very good to me over the last 15 years). I always choose Newcastle Brown Ale when I win. So, I will pick some up tonight for good luck, and also because it is an outstanding beer.

I’m wearing my WS 2008 alternate uniform blue Phillies cap, and have shaved the caveman beard down to a lush, full goatee. I predict two home runs for Werth tonight for that bit of tribute with my razor.

Beyond that, I’ll light some candles and drink some beer so if this is the last day of the season, at least I’ll be drunk in a room that smells good.

Wearing the same hoodie I wore on Sunday. Also boding well for tonight is the fact that I ate a meal with the girlfriend then she had to leave, also happened on Sunday. Other than that I don’t know what’s lucky for the Phils…too small a sample size.
