Fantasy baseball writer’s formula: find someone who was excellent in year X-2, but then was mediocre in year X-1, then recommend him in year X.

Buster Olney isn’t a fantasy writer

But he did write a piece in his blog (Insider required) about Hamels this spring and how he already looks better than he did last spring and his curve looks sharper and he’s trying to truly add the cutter to his arsenal of pitches.

Olney said this morning on Mike and Mike that Hamels looks fantastic. He is expecting big things out of Cole.

It would be kind of great, in a way, if Hamels ended up doing even better than Halladay this year.

If further motivation is needed Timmy K was talking about the best 1-2 in NL Pitching.

He wasn’t talking about the phillies.

who?

Who was his best 1-2 in NL pitching?

by PhilsForever on Feb 23, 2010 4:22 PM EST reply actions

really?

Look at the cy young votes last year and it should be easy to figure out who everyone thinks is the best 1-2 duo
