pitch jesus
My dad has noted that the local news is going to refer to him as “FORMER Harrisburg Senator Stephen Strasburg” for the rest of his life, even if he just pitches three or four games for them.

Happ’s shoulder? Oh, fantastic. Those mysterious shifting injuries are usually great news for a pitcher’s long-term outlook.
This is just great, if another pitcher gets hurt I swear. This is getting ridiculous, our pitcher are dropping like flies.
Scar tissue is stronger than muscle tissue. Realize the strength, move on.
Completely disagree with the criticism of Werth's baserunning yesterday...
Maybin caught that ball very shallow in center. Had Werth tagged and went, and Maybin makes even an average throw, it’s not even close at the plate – He’s meat. There’s no way Werth could know Maybin would miss badly AND the 1st baseman would make a complete non-effort to cut it off. Add in the fact that the flyout was the first out of the inning, and Werth has to be at least 90% sure he’ll score to run. It’s dumb to blame him – Criticism goes to Castro and Ruiz for not getting him in.
If he had tagged up immediately, he would have gone halfway and he would have been watching Maybin. So he would have been in a position where he was able to react to the bad throw.
but the pitcher was coming to the plate with two outs

Oh shite… You’re right – Castro struck out, and Ruiz flied out. My bad – For some reason I was remembering Castro as the one that flied out. Even still though, if you watch the replay (which unfortunately I can’t find), the 1st baseman could have easily cut it off, and even with the pitcher coming up, Werth pretty much had no choice but to retreat to 3rd.
Then again, if I can’t remember it was Ruiz that flied out to Maybin, maybe my memory of the cutoff man is a little hazy, too, haha.
Is anyone willing to vomit on me at a game within the next few months? I promise to split the haul l get from the PR department 50-50 with whoever is willing to spill their guts on me. I will provide the beer and food necessary to get the job done. I’ll be somewhere in the 400 level, behind home plate. I don’t want to know it’s coming.
Don’t get greedy.

Like WC said, don’t get greedy.
All you need is a standing room ticket. 50% of the booty will be well worth it.

speaking of vomit, yesterday was a day when Heyward and Ramirez had game-winners, the Phils lost, followed by a day off w/injured pitcher news.

I think you just want to be called a “vomit victim.”

Rotoworld reports a mild flexor pronator muscle strain, will miss next start. No talk of DL (yet).
Just an aside, but that is just the oddest sentence to read. Fifty years ago, no one would have had a clue what the hell you were talking about.

Hot dog gun
The next wrinkle should be packaging those hot dogs with little parachutes. Also, one each game should come with one of these.
The Hatfield plant doesn’t seem to have as much field trip/factory tour traffic as, say, the snackalicious Herr’s tour.
