I've posted a few times recently about Carlos Ruiz's hitting since Aug. 1, 2009. It has now been 162 games since then (including 15 in the postseason), so I thought it would be a good time to update that. It also comes after Chooch's return to the lineup, breaking up a perfect game in the 9th and later scoring the winning run in the 11th.
OPS (and PAs) since Aug. 1:
| OPS | PAs | |
| Howard | .922 | 696 |
| Werth | .899 | 644 |
| Ruiz | .879 | 387 |
| Utley | .841 | 625 |
| Rollins | .765 | 476 |
| Victorino | .763 | 688 |
| Ibanez | .742 | 607 |
| Feliz/Pol. | .696 | 569 |
So Chooch has arguably been the 3rd best hitter on the team over a 162-game stretch. If you exclude the 15 postseason games, the rank order is the same.
