Kendrick unravels as Phils keep struggling
"My command was off all night," Kendrick said. "I was falling behind hitters. Luckily, I got through it early. Then in the fifth same thing. Just behind in the count and left some pitches up. Mistakes, they were all mistakes -- pitches that should be hit where they were hit."

New Jersey: Fertile ground for professional baseball
Interesting read on the relatively recent boom of minor league baseball in the Garden State, including our very own Lakewood BlueClaws.
(With the Diamondbacks) I pitched a game in Arizona against the Phillies and Doug Glanville hit two homers off me in the same game. Doug Glanville hitting a home run is akin to Halley's Comet coming around. Him hitting two home runs in one game is unheard of. In the post-game they were asking Doug about the game and Doug said that 'a lot of fans don't understand the personal vendettas that go on in life that affect the game. Curt killed me multiple times.' ... He said that he and I were playing EverQuest and (Schilling) got (Glanville's) character killed a bunch of times. They come sprinting over to my locker saying, 'Doug just told us that he hates your guts.'

I wish someone would float a clubhouse chemistry related rumor that involved World of Warcraft. Jayson stealing Chase’s rare drop or Ryan overpowering his Cleric or something.
LOL… But what fun would that be— only the nerds would get the joke!

And you’d still find a way to kill it.

It must involve a knight elf mohawk hand grenade, or it’s just not funny.

Kendrick Optioned
Andrew Carpenter to take his place (as per Salisbury).
Not sure yet how I feel about this move.
I think I speak for some when I say, Meh

Agreed. This doesn’t really do anything for me unless Carpenter either makes us yearn for or forget who Kendrick is. Time will tell I suppose.
Looking forward to the Kevin Kolb era.

Yeah, I don’t know about this. Feels like there could be a move coming; I just don’t want it to be a panic one that hurts the farm.

How would demoting Kendrick signal a move though? I have seen this idea floating around, but I don’t see how this connects with a possible move.

It doesn’t rationally
But desperate times call for desperate dot connecting

I guess it’s just a worry that RAJ won’t stand pat. Perhaps that’s why the rumors are floating.

Rumors are floating because
A. Radio hosts and Sports Writers need fodder to get attention to their sources of income, so they can make things up and make inferences with not actual facts that will lead to
B. Fans these days are incapable of distinguishing between reality and the made up fantasy of the folks trying to win ears or eyes to keep employed.
And the cycle feeds itself like the serpent encircling the world until Ragnarok.

I like Kendrick, who seems like a stand-up guy and has had moments where he was somewhat effective. But this is kinda meh. Hopefully it’s a bridge until Happ can come back and be effective.
I like him too… I was following him starting in Spring Training this year, and was hoping that he would be a little more consistently effective. I just see this as a knee jerk reaction and perhaps Kendrick being the second victim of a team that is underperforming— an easy victim too, since he had options and could be sent down instead of being designated for assignment and having to go through waivers.
Again, Kendrick is not a good pitcher, despite whatever hopes you may have for him. He is performing at exactly the level one should expect him to perform based on his abilities. Carpenter is not worse than Kendrick. This is a lateral move. With everyone healthy, Kendrick doesn’t even have a place on this team, save long relief and mop-up work perhaps.
